I am Ramal Fernando

a young Sri Lankan photographer completed my studies

  at the prestigious Photography School in New Zealand South Seas Film and Television School,

one of the best known Photography schools in the Southern Hemisphere.

My interest towards photography was developed when I was a young boy . The first camera I used was my father’s Minolta camera nearly 15 years ago.

​

Having completed my secondary education at S.Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia in Sri lanka , I proceeded to the Australian College of Business and Technology, Sri Lanka to complete my foundation studies in Information Technology

While in school, I was a keen cricketer and played  for under 15  and 17 teams  and was the vice-captain  of the under 15 team .. I represented BRC School of cricket and toured India several times and won  few awards including the  Best Bowler  award.

I successfully completed a program in Graphic Design conducted by Wijeya Graphics (Pvt) Ltd ,Sri Lanka  and  both Basic and Advanced  Photography programmes conducted  by the Metropolitan Institute of Business Management. in Sri Lanka.

​

​ Thereafter I proceeded to   join the Communication and Creative Arts Faculty of the 

Sunway University, Malaysia

 to follow  a programme in Graphic  and Multimedia Design   which included  Photography.

​

I was an active member in the university photography Club at Sunway and was elected as an Event Manager and  covered many events at my university and other  private events  contacted  through my photography page.

​

While  in Sunway, as a  life member of the United Nations Association of Sri Lanka (UNASL) , I represented Sri Lanka as a delegate at the United Nations 8th UniversityScholars Leadership Symposium held in Bangkok, Thailand in August  2017.

​

I had the opportunity to cover the event and my photos were highly appreciated and some of them were published in the UNASL Annual for 2017.

While studying Graphic and Multimedia Design in Sunway University, Malaysia, I decided to join a University where I can specialise in  Photography  and  shifted to  the South  Seas Film & Television School, in New Zealand  to specialise in photography.

By now I have reached many achievements in the field of  Photography.

  My own photography page called RF Photography,  has been well recognized by so many viewers from different parts of the world. I have received many appreciations from them for my photos.

​

My ambition is to  gain experience in  varied fields of photography In time to come I  aspire to work for the

National Geographic.
